Would you like to go deaf at work?
Posted 16th January 2018

Hundreds of workers lose their hearing due to wearing the wrong ear protection, if they wear anything at all. What is at stake, however, is too pricey; could you imagine your life without the tune of your favourite song, the voice of your loved ones or the ability the easily carry conversations with others around you?

In order to select the correct type of hearing protection you need to know the noise level on your workplace and some additional deciding factors are also involved, such as

  • Your current hearing ability
  • The exposure to noise throughout the day
  • The need to communicate on the job
  • Other protective equipment you should wear
  • Temperature
  • Climate
  • Physical constraints of the work activity
  • Your anatomical characteristics

Do not risk living a life without the sound of joy!

Want more detailed information regarding noise at work? We cover this topic in our CITB Health & Safety Awareness, Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (and Refresher) and Site Management Safety Training Scheme (and Refresher). It is also discussed in NEBOSH General & Construction and IOSH courses.
