Health and Safety Awareness

The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 requires you to provide whatever information, instruction, training and supervision as is necessary to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety at work of your employees.

This is expanded by the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, which identify situations where health and safety training is particularly important, eg when people start work, on exposure to new or increased risks and where existing skills may have become rusty or need updating.

Libben provides many Health & Safety Awareness short courses. These can be made bespoke to your organisation.

Courses can be delivered at your organisation or at one of our venues.

With Libben, course registration, books*, materials & refreshments* are all included in the price you pay!

Accident Investigation

Every year people are killed or injured at work. Over 40 million working days are lost annually through work-related accidents and illnesses.

This training course gives organisations an opportunity to find out what went wrong. Learning the lessons and taking appropriate action may reduce, or even prevent, accidents in the future. The training course will help all organisations to carry out their own health and safety investigations.

Asbestos Awareness

This course covers all you need to know on how to be asbestos aware. This is required by all persons who influence & wish to work on the fabric of any premises built before the year 2000. Workers and supervisors must be able to recognise asbestos-containing materials and know what to do if they come across them in order to protect themselves and others.

CDM 2015 Awareness

This course will ensure that Key 'Duty Holders' understand their legal duties under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015).

Delegates will gain a detailed understanding of the regulations and how to apply them. This will also ensure legal compliance throughout any project.

Contractor Management

This training course highlights the legal, financial & moral reasons why contractors should be managed at work. Those that fall into the category as a contractor could be:

–Fire extinguishers/alarms/emergency lighting

To help those who assess individual P.C workstations with the skills and knowledge required to enable them to set up individual P.C workstations correctly, and for the user to use it safely.

Health & Safety Committee Member

If two or more union-appointed health and safety representatives request in writing that you set up a health and safety committee, you must do so within three months of the request. Although there is no such requirement if you consult health and safety representatives elected by the workforce, it is good practice to set up a health and safety committee where:

  • you have several health and safety representatives elected by employees; or
  • you have to consult both union-appointed health and safety representatives and employee-elected representatives.

This training course helps health and safety representatives or representatives of employee health and safety (for non-unionised organisations) understand their responsibilities.

Manual Handling

To reduce injury, lost time from work and to be legally compliant with the Manual Handling Operations Regulations.

Manual Handling Instructor

To reduce injury, lost time from work and to be legally compliant with the Manual Handling Operations Regulations. This course helps organisations appoint people to deliver manual handling training.

Risk Assessment

To help delegates with the skills and knowledge to be able to carry out risk assessments within their workplace effectively.

Working at Height

Falls from height account for many deaths and serious injuries within any industry. Should you carry out any tasks where you could potentially fall and could be injured the Work at Height Regulations 2005 apply. To help you ensure that employees understand their duties, Libben have designed this course to help you fulfil your legal obligations.
