Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)

The Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) course would be for you if you currently have supervisory responsibilities on a construction site or if you are thinking about moving up to a supervisory position. The SSSTS Site Safety Plus / CITB training course is a well-structured course that looks at both the legal and ‘good practice’ solutions for managing Health & Safety by those actually undertaking operational tasks. This course will also teach you how to deal with difficult issues faced by those working in the construction industry and how to overcome this.

At the end of the course, you will have an understanding of:

  • health and safety law and how it applies to supervisors.
  • your supervisory responsibilities in controlling the site safely.
  • risk assessments and the need for method statements.
  • effective site inductions, toolbox talks, and method statement briefings.
  • monitoring site activities effectively.
  • timely intervention when bad practice is identified.

The certification for this course is valid for 5 years and to remain certified, you will need to take a 1-day Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme refresher (SSSTS R) course before the expiry date on your certificate, otherwise, the full course will need to be retaken.
